Matt is striking me as a problem player and probably needs to acknowledge that there are more people at the table everyone stops and waits for his turn but I can see him never stopping waiting and listening to other peoples tones. Hopefully he gets better at this as the game goes on this could be just first game. Jitters is what I’m hoping anyway.

Cloud giants are absolutely my favorite giant, im actually making a video of my own reworking the entire statblock into a fitting, lore friendly cloud giant thats representitive of their wealth. I had a cloud giant prince named Celestius, who saved the party from the cloud giant sentinels who rode in on massive golden chariots (they protect their sky cities from intruders) Celestius in turn made the players become his serfs and fight for him in a gladatorial arena where other cloud giant nobility gather up creatures from around the world an have them fight to see who has the best beast. And he loaned the players his great grandfathers vorpal scythe to show the immense wealth he had.

Thanks for a doing a video on these. They have intrigued me since I first saw them. I was always unsure how to use them though. You have given me some ideas and clarity! Thanks!

Brings back fond memories. I had all the 1st edition AD&D books, many of the modules and other supplements, a subscription to Dragon magazine, and was an avid painter of the Grenadier Models official D&D miniatures (and other 25mm figures). I still have most of that stuff stashed away in boxes, and I spent many a happy hour on that hobby back when I was in high school.

I know this is an old video and I peeked ahead seeing other students. After all this time did you continue to play with any of these students or know if they still play? Just found this channel but a followup with these students after all these years would be cool to see.

Also, do you know some resources for solo RPG tied with self-development? Like earning currency and Exp for your character through completing tasks in the real world? I can't find much on this topic even though it seems like such a great idea. :D Thanks for these videos. I know now how to calculate dmg and critical dmg etc.

Probably not worth the travel time - the wind never gets in those cities... and don't get me started on what they call 'food' in those places. At least the traveling music was a good choice.

Yeah, this is a good monster to use in a pit fall trap instead of the standard spikes at the bottom. The dungeon designer decided to just plant one of these things down there and just let it grow into a cluster of them to fill the bottom of the pit. I think a lot of plant monsters are a good option for that. How I think I would use these in a campaign would be, maybe more of an outbreak kind of situation where the fungus is spreading and infecting people. But I would have the fungus start growing out of living things that are infected, so if not healed soon enough the new Violet Fungus growing out of the victim could attack anyone trying to heal the victim. Then after the victim dies, the fungus will take control of the body and drive it for a short while before the body has rotted too much and falls apart. This will be just like 1 or 2 days. Just long enough to make the dead infected body walk to the next town where the fungus can spread the infection more. Fire spells like Burning Hands will be very useful in this campaign because once the infection gets too bad that a healer can't even get close enough to heal the victim because of the Violet Fungus' tendrils lashing out trying to infect more people, the best option at that point will be to just kill it with fire. 😅

How about a lonely Ecomancer using Awaken on the local Flora and the situation just spiraling with successive generations.

Ash works also, but my mind went immediately to Edward Ulrich from Full Metal Alchemist.

Hill giants are one of my favorite subjects especially in regards to module G1. I'm always up for a good talk about their intelligence, size, weight (where things like doors or furniture is concerned) and beliefs...... Are they superstitious ? How do illusions affect their dull minds ? Can they climb or are they afraid of heights because of what happens to large creatures who fall ? The list goes on.

My cousin switched from running 5e to C&C a couple of years ago. We're older guys that grew up on AD&D and we're loving C&C. It's a great system.

Looks like a fun group, and eager to see a C&C playthrough with newbies!

I'm 7 mins in and already feel the excitement! Man, it's great to see group play with students again. I enjoy the shows done remotely, but watching group play is just a whole 'nother level of engagement!
